There is a virus infecting the earth, but this virus did not originate in any country. Do you feel hopeless, helpless, outnumbered, and crushed? Many people felt that way today as they are in a limbo of isolation; Fear of losing a job, not getting a paycheck, going hungry, losing their home with their livelihood. There is more at work here than just a Coronavirus. During a pandemic, there are groups in some powerful positions that have said, “Never let a crisis go to waste.” What these people don’t care about are the people they hurt in their power grab.
There are people who are dying and dying alone. There are families who cannot see their loved ones when they take breathe their last breath. Despair and hopelessness being ramped up by the media are causing depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, violence from people being coupled up with no jobs, and no hope. So sad.
There is an underlying enemy whose cunning ways and lies make it seem like the enemy is the victor. He continues to whispers that he is stronger. He continues to remind us of the mistakes of our past and suggests the hopelessness of our futures. The enemy continues to lie to us through the evil of others he uses for his purposes. God, through the Holy Spirit, allows us to see our failures to create stepping stones to shield us from past temptations to help us achieve future victories.
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” Titus 2:11-14
God’s grace lays a foundation over our enemy by His strong hand. He leads us away from temptation and restores us to Himself. God’s grace is powerful, freeing, perfect and full of love.
It is during times of hardship and grief that many turn to their Creator for comfort. Many people who have never prayed before will turn to prayer because they have no hope. In this world, there is an evil force that does not have our best interest at heart, but our Heavenly Father does. The Bible tells us He will never forsake us and He is always present in our lives. Many people do not understand this concept because they are looking for someone to take away their hardships. God uses these hardships to grow us through the hardships of this world, strengthening us in our faith and our relationship with Him.
God did not cause this virus, yet He has not forgotten us either. Let me encourage you to get quiet and alone with God and ask Him to direct your path, speak to your soul, help guide you through these troubled waters and once you are on the other side, you will be stronger than before. Do not allow the evil tempter to misdirect you and fall into his trap. At the beginning of this message, I said there was a virus out there that wants to do us harm. Burying our heads in the sand or closing our eyes will not help to overcome their evil. We have to pray, resist, fight back without falling into sin ourselves. If you are struggling, turn to God in prayer. I would love to hear your story and how God has helped you through the storm. If you have not heard from God, remember God sometimes says “Yes” to our request. Some times He says “No” and sometimes He says “Wait”. Just know this. No matter what answer you are getting now, God has not and will never leave your side. He will always be present and listening to any request made in faith.
I would love to hear from you. If you have a prayer request or just need someone to talk to, you can contact me at charles@survivingspouseclub.com.
